Operating Era: 1918-1970. PLEASE NOTE: This is a FLAT KIT Version.
Now includes our One-Piece Roof Frame.
The United States Railway Administration took over the railroads in December 1917.
Standard freight car designs were developed to ease the car shortage. 25,000 single
sheathed cars were built between 1918 and 1920 and assigned to 26 roads. Too late for the
war, they served as a standard for a decade. All USRA SS kits now contain one piece body
castings and both K and AB brakes.
Railroads covered include: GET, Jersey Central, C&O, C&NW, NYC, PRR, SP, B&O, D&H, Reading, MILW, MC, PMcK&Y, GR&I, NYP&N, Erie, N&W, Clinchfield, RF&P, WM, AA, MC, and CPR (Kit 7201).
Also available in a Flat Kit (3391). Please specify which road name decal is desired.
