Operating Era: 1895-1928. Pennsylvania RR, Pennsylvania Lines, Vandalia RR, Canada Southern, Midland Line. The XG was built in 1895-96 with 34' long interior, 5' wheel base 30 ton capacity trucks, wood bolsters and 4-spoke brake wheels. The XH was built in 1898-1900 to the same dimensions but with 5'6" wheel base 40 ton capacity trucks, steel bolsters and fluted 5-spoke brake wheels. Over 17,000 were built.
